Alaska Stimulus Payment Schedule: Key Dates, Eligibility, and Amount

Many people in Alaska are getting ready to receive the Alaska Permanent Fund Dividend (PFD) payment, a yearly stimulus check.

This special program began in the 1980s and is funded by some of the profits from the state's oil industry. The goal is to give direct financial support to Alaska residents.

Who is Eligible for the Alaska PFD Stimulus Payment?

Only residents who meet certain rules will get this payment. Here’s what you need to qualify:

  • Residency: You must have lived in Alaska for the whole year of 2024.
  • Intent to remain: You must plan to continue living in Alaska.
  • No Other Residency: You cannot have claimed to live in another state or country in 2024.
  • Criminal Record: You must not have been imprisoned or convicted of certain crimes.

It is estimated that about 600,000 Alaskans could be eligible.

How Much Money Will You Get?

The amount of the Alaska stimulus check for each eligible resident is $1,702.

When Will the Payments Be Made?

The payments will be sent out in phases, based on when your application is marked as “Eligible-Unpaid.” Here are the key dates:

  • If your 2024 (or earlier) dividend application is “Eligible-Unpaid” by August 13, 2025, your payment will be sent on August 21, 2025.
  • If your status is “Eligible-Unpaid” by September 3, 2025, the payment will be made on September 11, 2025.
  • If your 2025 (or earlier) application is “Eligible-Unpaid” by September 18, 2025, you'll get your payment on October 2, 2025.
